SBE SCOPE Symposium at Maastricht University

Sustainable Future? Exploring Opportunities
Together with keynote speakers, prestigious companies and excellent students the one-day convention at Maastricht University will be centered around the theme 'Topic' as sustainability is perceived as an important topic to be further addressed. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the School of Business and Economics in Maastricht, the first SBE SCOPE Symposium will take place on 18 May 2015. The SBE SCOPE Symposium provides a platform for all participants to take part in discussions, which will address different specified topics to capture all interests.

Organized by the School of Business and Economics Maastricht and SCOPE, the overall theme of the Symposium is: "Sustainable Future? Exploring Opportunities." In response to the increasing demand of society, and the environment for acting sustainable, companies find themselves in a situation in which they need to simultaneously explore new opportunities while at the same time focus on their existing core competencies. The growing importance of sustainability shines a light on the future opportunities, possibilities and difficulties that society and companies will face. Throughout a panel discussion and various workshops, each topic relates to sustainable aspects in the areas of Finance, Marketing, Economics and Econometrics.

By putting emphasis on a sustainable future, the SBE Symposium is focused on stimulating the broaden understandings of students and how our generation already can contribute to a sustainable future, by focusing on the opportunities and challenges companies experience, and how companies can develop sustainable core competencies.
