Sustainable Innovation Forum 2015

Accelerating on innovative solutions to foster sustainable development
Building on the regular COP21 program, Climate Action and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) host a two day conference which invites participants from various industries in business, finance, government, non-governmental and civil society to reinforce and strengthen sustainable innovation to address the topic of the emerging green economy.

It is the sixth time Climate Action and UNEP brings together world leaders and industry experts on the Sustainable Innovation Forum to share ideas on how to boost sustainable innovation, green growth and sustainable development within the coming years. During the two-days the conference offers participants collaboration through networking, informed discussion and the creation of strategic partnerships for the change management process. 

In collaboration with knowledge centers, innovative think-tanks, and academic institutes, young talent and cutting-edge innovation will be brought by the table. Together we will create a platform to cultviate and advance young talent within the field of sustainable innovation. In addition, key note speakers from business, public sector, UN bodies, and NGO's are invited to start the multi-stakeholder dialogue. Some interesting names on the list are:

  • Peter Schwarzenbauer - Member of the Board Management at BMW AG: Having been the CEO of Porsche Cars North America, and held a position as Member of the Board Management for Audi AG, Mr. Schwarzenbauer has joined BMW since 2013. BMW is one of the leading car brands when it comes to sustainable innovation with their BMW i series. 
  • Paul Simpson - CEO Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP): Is active at CDP since 2000 and has broadend the benchmarks' perspective from a climate specific focus into other environmental indicators and topics. Paul joins the Guardian Sustainable Business advisory panel and is a former director of the Social Venture Network. 
  • Magnus Hall - CEO Vattenfall: The Swedish energy company is market leader in the northern European region with a strong focus on sustainable consumption, renewables and a sustainable supply chain. Prior to his position as CEO (since 2014) Mr. Hall held many positions within the Holmen Group, and currently holds several board memberships including the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. 

This year more than 750 selected global leaders will be brought together to catalyse sustainable innovation, and share ideas and thoughts on how to accelerate on sustainable product, service and business model innovation. As a learning and networking space, the Sustainable Innovation Forum 2015 is one of the most unique conferences during COP21.
