Unilever and SKOLKOVO Present New Sustainable Development Program

Sustainability Executive Education in Russia
As a result of a strategic partnership agreement, Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO and Unilever organize an executive education program on sustainable development. The 3-day residential program will take place from April the 18th until the 20th of 2016, on its Moscow campus.


Many companies are able to develop itself on the background of growing markets, but only the best remain stable in periods of recession and volatility. Increased pressure from regulators and competitors, changes in consumer preferences, and rising resource prices cause leaders around the world to seek new business models for growth. 

Questions such as: how to manage risk and reduce operating costs - how to ensure product differentiation and entering new niches - how to strengthen the reputation and increase customer loyalty and partners, are returning elements on companies’ agendas. For a growing number of companies, answers to these questions are to be found when looking at the their business - through building sustainable models and revision of approaches to corporate investment in social and environmental initiatives. 

Key benefits of participation

The program is designed for senior executives, such as general managers, head of strategy, business development, and sustainability departments, who would like to learn about business creation on a (inter)national level, best practices on sustainability, and opportunities for development of their company. Additionally, directors and owners of mid-sized businesses are invited to join as well. Day 1. Sustainable development as a challenge for existing business models: how to escape from losses?

  • Global trends: why leaders choose sustainable growth model?
  • Analysis of the challenges on how to build sustainable capacity models
  • Risk management and reputation in modern conditions
  • Reduced costs through operational efficiency, and building of sustainable supply chains

Day 2. Sustainable development as a business opportunities: new growth models

  • Changes in consumer preferences and new market niches for sustainable companies 
  • A new map of stakeholders and "non-market" growth strategy
  • Tools for building sustainable business models

Day 3: Building a sustainable business models in Russia

  • Barriers to building a sustainable business model in Russia
  • Introduction of new models: evaluation of the effectiveness and involvement of stakeholders

An integral part of the three-day program is project work in which theory is brought into practice by testing tools on your company specific business model. Additionally, key note guests from all over the world are contributing to the 3 days in Moscow by challenging and upgrading your practical knowledge and skills in the fields of strategy and sustainability. On behalf of Finch & Beak, Managing Partner, Jan van der Kaaij, will talk about practical tools on building sustainable strategies and business models during interactive lectures.
