As part of Commerzbank's sustainability management, Christoph was primarily responsible for ESG ratings, developed the bank's sustainability strategy and worked continuously on integrating the topic of sustainability into the bank's core business.

He developed the bank's sustainability approach in workshops with the Board of Managing Directors and represented it to investors, associations, political decision-makers and customers.

In addition, he headed Commerzbank's Green Bond Committee from 2018-2020 and played a key role in the bank's first green bond issue. Before joining SLR, Christoph worked as Sustainable Finance Advisor at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Here he developed the “Principles for Responsible Banking Academy” with the Finance Initiative of the UN Environment Program (UNEP FI) to support banks in implementing the Principles for Responsible Banking and advised the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) on sustainable finance issues.
