Sekisui Chemical Company, the Japanese manufacturer of high quality polyolefin foams is very active in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). As a result, Sekisui is part of both the Innovest 100 Most Sustainable Companies in the World and the Dow Jones Sustainability Index.

In 2007 Sekisui celebrated its 60 year anniversary. In order to celebrate this, Sekisui held the first Global Children’s Eco Summit in Japan with children from all over the world.

In September 2008, the Children’s Eco Summit concept will be broadened with regional events in Europe, America and Asia. Sekisui has asked Finch & Beak to develop the European Summit. Specifically, Finch & Beak will be responsible for the development of the concept, the construction of the programme and the programme management during the event.

The event, which will be in line with Sekisui’s corporate CSR programme, shall focus on the various stakeholders of Sekisui Chemical. Specifically, the children of employees and customers will be invited to the summit. In the two day event the children, while playing, are being challenged to discover what they can do to protect the environment.

Since 2007 Finch & Beak advises the European division of Sekisui both on CSR and effective stakeholder management.
