The World Outgames is a large international festival for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender people (LGBT) with sports, culture and human rights as the central themes. The event is scheduled to take place from July 25 to August 2 in 2009. The city of Copenhagen is angling to support the event by pumping more than 10 million dollars of government and corporate funding into hosting the World Outgames.

“Some people try to compare the World Outgames concept to the Olympics”, says Mr. Uffe Elbæk, founder of the Kaospilot and currently director of the group that is organizing the event in Copenhagen. “But it is more like the Olympics in 3D, where sport is accompanied by 2 equally important dimensions: a wide ranging cultural program and a human rights conference focusing on issues important to the LGBT community.”

In May 2008, Finch & Beak will help the World Outgamesto design an effective social responsible programme. As a part of this, Finch & Beak will facilitate a workshop together with some of the most important stakeholders of the Outgames.
