Finch & Beak recently supported Macintosh in the translation of her activities into a CSR-strategy. The twelve formulas that belong to the Macintosh Retail Group will follow a common CSR policy. The concern has recorded its CSR ambitions in a code of conduct entitled ‘sustainable growth in retail’.

In 2009 Macintosh analysed which trajectories need to be made more sustainable. The year before, Macintosh appointed a CSR coordinator. The coordinator focuses on subjects such as energy saving, supply chain transparency, reduction of environmentally stressing substances and efficiency of logistical operations. The concern will also place stricter demands on suppliers.

Kwantum, member of the Macintosh Retail Group, was in 2009 for the fifth time in a row recognized by Milieudefensie as frontrunner in the field of responsible wood use. The 160 branches of Halfords are putting serious effort in the efficiency of the logistical process. Shoe retailer Brantano collects old shoes that are then sold in countries where they are valuable.
