Sustainable Energy Week 2017

The 2017 European Union Sustainable Energy Week will take place from 20-22 of June in Brussels, Belgium. Public authorities, private companies, NGOs and consumers are brought together to promote initiatives for the energy transition towards renewable sources.

The conference is the most important European conference fully dedicated to sustainable energy policies issues. Sessions are organized by the European Commission, and stakeholders in the energy transition discuss best practices and new sustainable energy ideas. Firthermore, debating on policy developments is an integral part of the program. The event will kick-off with the EU Sustainable Energy Award ceremony, where outstanding innovations in the field of energy efficiency and renewable are recognized and awarded. Among many policy advisors and directors of the European Commission, companies that will be present include Iberdrola, Schneider Electric, Red Eléctrica, KLM, and Lufthansa.

Tuesday 20th of June:

  • Scaling-up and delivering climate finance to the private sector
  • SMEs and entrepreneurs as drivers towards clean energy
  • Consumers and the energy transition

Wednesday 21st of June:

  • Digitalization and the energy transition
  • Accelerating the clean energy transition – financing energy efficiency at local level
  • Innovation in renewable energy policy and regulation

Thursday 22nd of June:

  • Energy Transition Leaders Forum
  • EU’s renewable energy prospects for 2030
  • Collaboration between social and economic actors to phase-out CO2
