Seasoned advisor in ESG benchmarking, sustainability strategy and stakeholder engagement. | nikkie@finchandbeak.com

'My drive for ‘changing the world’ has always been there. I became aware of the concept of CSR during my bachelor studies, and while sustainability has since gone mainstream, it's often not effective enough yet or not addressing the right issues.

Over the past decade, the financial crisis and digital disruption from unexpected players have showed that companies must continue to evolve in order to survive. Through Finch & Beak, I help companies apply sustainability and innovation to deliver tangible value that executives can work with, and enables them to see, shape and expand the company's societal contribution.'

My background
  • Masters in Communication and Information Sciences, Tilburg University
  • IMD One Planet Leaders & Being Innovative programs
  • ESADE Open Innovation and Corporate Entrepreneurship program

You can call me for:
Advice on ESG benchmarking (specialized in Dow Jones Sustainability Index and CDP) and reporting, communication, marketing, stakeholder engagement with regard to sustainability.

Colleagues would describe me as:
Down to earth, analytic, involved, team player.

Which book should everybody read?
Naomi Klein's 'No Logo' is often portrayed as a manifest against globalization, but in my opinion it is a strong call for corporate responsibility that laid the finger on some very sore spots at the time. Things have changed, mostly for the better, but its basic notion of straightforward decency and required change for a sustainable future stays intact.

The best advice I ever got
'Just be yourself.'

Something surprising about me
I grew up on a dairy farm with over a hundred cows.
What I do in my spare time
    • Exploring Barcelona's cultural and culinary highlights
    • Learning Spanish and Catalan
    • Going to concerts and festivals
    • Binge-watching films & reading a lot of books
    • Cycling, walking and running
