Ambitious professional aiming to make sustainability understandable and accessible for everyone. | josephin@finchandbeak.com

After studying Geography and going abroad to Hong Kong, I realized that I can have a bigger contribution by learning how to integrate sustainability strategies into companies. That is the reason why I pursure my career as a sustainability expert. I believe that people, organizations and companies can minimize waste and pollution and become more aware by its surrounding environment. I am aiming to help companies finding their sustainability path and integrate my positive thinking into their strategies.

My background:

  • Master of Science in Sustainable Business and Innovation from Utrecht University, Netherlands
  • Master Thesis: Circular packaging in the on-board catering aviation sector. A case study of TUI Aviation.
  • Internships at: TUI Group, Netherlands | Volkswagen AG, Germany | WEB Windenergie, Germany | Think tank REI, China
  • Bachelor of Science in Geography from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms Universität Bonn, Germany
  • Year abroad (B.Sc.) Resource Management at Chinese University of Hong Kong
  • Bilingual German and English, basic communication in Mandarin.

Colleagues would describe me as:
Supportive, engaged, open-minded, flexible

Which book should everybody read:
Utopia for Realists. And how we can get there, by Rutger Bregman. The book is characterized by a lot of inspiring visions and ideas about our today's society. It visualizes future ideas which might seem utopian, but are are still realistic. The book shows how society, environment and economic are intervowen and presents ideas such as the 15-hour work week.

Best advice I ever got:
Remove the intent and be the person you want to be.

Something surprising about me:
I played semi-professional football during high-school for the northern selection of Germany.

What I do for fun:

  • Running and swimming
  • Baking and trying out new recipes
  • Exploring countries and nature
