Webinar: Creating Value from Double Materiality

Join us in this webinar on April 23rd where we will explore how to drive strategic value from your Double Materiality assessment and go beyond mere compliance with reporting standards. We’re excited to welcome guest speaker Simon Gobert, Head of External Reporting at dsm-firmenich, who will talk about double materiality in times of company transformation and the company’s recent first double materiality assessment as a newly merged organisation.

dsm-firmenich is the result of the merger between Royal DSM and Firmenich which was completed in 2023. As innovators in nutrition, health and beauty, dsm-firmenich reinvents, manufactures and combines nutrients, flavours and fragrances for the world’s growing population to thrive. Simon has worked for over 15 years in non-financial reporting, performance management and business intelligence at Royal DSM and gained additional experience at the World Food Programme and World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

From Finch & Beak’s side, our Team Lead Materiality & Strategy Valeria Calvas will present a strategic approach to double materiality, how to leverage stakeholder engagement and senior management involvement to go beyond compliance. As CSRD is driving companies to take double materiality as a qualifier for reporting, it can be challenging to keep a strategic approach during the process and really use its outcomes to drive your sustainability strategy. Valeria will share practical insights on how to do that.

We’ll talk about:

  • Using your double materiality assessment for refining your sustainability and business strategy
  • Practical tips for engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • How to determine your company’s impacts, risks, and opportunities
