The need for sustainability

At Van Wijhe, sustainability has played an important role for many years. In the 1980’s the company was one of the first Dutch manufacturers of coatings to develop and market a water-based coating. Van Wijhe also produced a high-solid coating with much less solvent than competing types. In addition, Van Wijhe focuses on improving its relationship with customers, suppliers, employees and society in a broader sense.

Van Wijhe’s involvement in society and sustainable solutions goes without saying: it is part of their identity. In addition to innovation, other CSR-issues that Van Wijhe deals with are supply chain cooperation and the expected life-time of materials. Suppliers and customers expect a pro-active sustainability attitude. Furthermore, the high prices of raw materials are a driver for the development of renewable raw materials.
