Development of a Future Center

For the Dutch Ministry of Water Management and Transportation
Development of a Future Center
Publ. date 21 Sep 2007
In February 2007 Finch & Beak started to work with the Dutch Ministry of Water Management and Transportation, helping them to develop a conceptual framework for a new Future Center set to open in January 2008.

The ambition of the ministry is to be able to manage their traffic and water related issues by shifting paradigms and setting new world class standards. The Future Center wants to be a central incubator for that process.

Morten Pedersen from Finch & Beak was part of the working group developing the Future Center and, using his background as a process facilitator, he has already led several processes at Rijkswaterstaat (RWS). These include a process to develop a cover story of the Future Center together with the Future Center team. Finch & Beak worked together with graphic visualisers from Visueel Denken with the aim of getting all the thoughts and dreams about the Future Center down on paper in a creative way, which will intrigue readers of the cover story and help the core team from the Future Center to understand what it means to run and develop a Future Center.
