Exploring New Business Models in Helsinki

HAAGA-HELIA university advances shared value thinking in Finnish economy
Exploring New Business Models in Helsinki
Publ. date 15 Oct 2013
Mid September, Finch & Beak's managing partner Jan van der Kaaij flew to Helsinki to conduct a workshop at HAAGA-HELIA, university of applied sciences, about how to implement shared value so that it creates better business.

Ten companies and a number of students majoring in CSR attended the workshop, during which the Torres case was used as an example of shared value within the value chain of wineries and retail.

Business Model Canvas as basis for growth and strategy

The workshop was held as part of the NEMO project, run by Principal Lecturer (CSR) Minna-Maari Harmaala and R&D Manager Tuija Toivola. The first phase of the project focused on experimenting how the Business Model Canvas can help finding new growth paths and clearing out strategies. The preparation of the NEMO 2 project focuses on creating "better business" models with partner companies, and creating and testing tools that are connected to this, such as GLOBE-US.
