Practical Insights into Impact Measurement & Valuation

Earlier this year, RobecoSAM rolled out the Impact Measurement and Valuation criterion to all industries in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) universe. The new chapter posed a big challenge for many companies, which was reflected in the on average low scores in this area. Ahead of the DJSI Expert Training on 27-28 November in Barcelona where we’ll do a deepdive on the criterion in collaboration with RobecoSAM, we already shine a light on the emerging topic in this article.

After our successful training in Amsterdam, Finch & Beak will once again host a DJSI Expert Training in collaboration with RobecoSAM. This time, the training will take place on 27-28 November in Barcelona. Global practitioners on ESG benchmarking will come together to learn and exchange best practices with top level DJSI peers. During the training four experts from leading DJSI companies will present their approach on selected criteria, while specialists from RobecoSAM and Finch & Beak will provide insights and guide interactive discussions with participants.

Summary of Webcast on Policy Influence & Human Rights

On October 5th, the second out of 5 webinars on the DJSI 2017 results was broadcasted by RobecoSAM. The webcast covered the newly introduced criterion on Policy Influence, as well as the questions on Human Rights. Both criteria have become more data-driven, indicating that RobecoSAM is merely looking for quantitative based answers rather than qualitative stories. DJSI Industry Leaders 2017: Pearson, Inditex, and KPN

On the 7th of September 2017, RobecoSAM and S&P Dow Jones Indices announced the results of the annual Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) review. This year’s industry group leaders include Pearson, SGS, Inditex, Metro, Grupo Argos and Henkel. Companies that were newly added in this year’s Indices are CRH, Carrefour, Solvay, Saipem, Philips Lighting and TechnipFMC, whereas Rio Tinto and Reckitt Benckiser Group have been deleted from the index. LANXESS re-entered the European Index within the chemicals sector.

5 Top Tips to Accelerate Your DJSI Process

Many companies eager to be leading in the globally renowned sustainability benchmark - the Dow Jones Sustainability Index - start their internal engagement process directly after the 2017 results are released. Since last year many eligible companies that were not actively participating, have been assessed by RobecoSAM based on publicly available data only. And what's more: the relative scores will be published in the Bloomberg terminal by the end of September.
